Mostly a test journal.

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 1, 2009, 11:47 PM

Not too much to update here. As the title says this journal is mostly a test for my shiny new CSS which was made for me by =itisme1109 In fact most of this journal is in fact giant thank you. Cause she got me a sub, and made this CSS, and I really can't thank her enough for her kindness and generosity, but you know. I'll try anyway.
As far as updates go, not too many of them. In fact I think that's it. Supposing Halloween was just here like yesterday or something. Not sure. I spent most of it drunk. Started with beer for breakfast and it all went downhill from there. Actually weekend in general was good. Got to watch Warbringer live over the internet Friday night. They put on a good show. Yay for free concerts. They weren't Flogging Molly, not by any means. Still an okay show. Got drunk Saturday, and spent most of the day chatting and watching stupid B horror flicks. Most of them were zombie movies.

Speaking of horror movies. I notice they are remaking some of them. Most notably A Nightmare On Elm Street, and The Evil Dead series.
I could fucking cry over this. Seriously, upon reading about them I wanted to weep openly over a pint.
First A Nightmare On Elm Street. This is a classic slasher movie. A remake is a good idea. I was excited about this. Except they are letting Michael Bay direct it. That alone is enough to make me wanna cry. The only director that would have been a worse choice would have been Peter Jackson. Also A Nightmare On Elm Street without Robert Englund? Really? Whoever decided that was a good idea should be shot... Repeatedly for this. Englund was Krueger. So yeah, this movie has bombed and it's not even released yet. Honestly, kinda like Psych: "No body, no crime Shawn." Except let's edit this: "No Englund, not a worthy remake." Just pissing off fans of the original while flogging a dead cash cow.
And The Evil Dead remake. This showed promise. Sam Raimi is directing it. Which is encouraging, as he was the original director. Except no Bruce Campbell playing Ash. How does that work? And why are they remaking it? It was good the way it was. They hit perfection with the originals. These remakes aren't necessary. I won't be watching either one. Especially the Evil Dead. Army Of Darkness is one of my favorite movies, and I don't wanna see anyone other than Bruce Campbell playing Ash. It'd feel just wrong. Epically wrong, bordering on blasphemy.

Anyways I think I'm done here, gonna post a Psych quote and wander off now that my little tangent is over.

Henry: Well, fooling around with your best friend's sister certainly wasn't your most brilliant idea.
Shawn: No, that was the toaster alarm I invented in the third grade that woke you up by smacking you in the face with a waffle. ...I think I peaked too soon.

:lmao: Yeah, as for me I hocked my brains, packed my bags and headed west. ;P

My last week.

Mon Oct 26, 2009, 11:14 PM
Let me see, my last week. Not too sure what to make of it honestly. It was full of epic fail and epic win.

Let me see, bad things first: On Thursday I had a wisdom tooth pulled, top left hand one. It was brutal thing to go through. Got three needles, first two weren't that bad, didn't even feel them going in. Third one was the worst. All I got told is 'You're gonna feel a lot of pressure.' Well, not quite sure where he jammed that thing but that was worse than the actual tooth getting pulled. As far as the actual tooth pulling went. I didn't feel a thing. I did hear some cracking and then it was done. Kinda cringed upon hearing it. Beyond that jaw was just sore for two or three days. Following the tooth getting pulled I did was any pirate would have done. I found a bottle of rum and drank my nerves better.

I also got really addicted to a band called Alestorm. It was mostly because of Swashbuckle I learned these guys existed, and Alestorm embarrasses Swashbuckle. Alestorm has produced the best pirate music ever. Not too much to say here. Just figured I would mention this because someone might need a new band to listen too.

Also last night I got to see Flogging Molly live. This was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. They had such an amazing energy. Can't say that for the opening acts. Don't know who those two bands were. Don't really care. We drank through them. They sucked. Flogging Molly though, amazing stuff. Quite a few surprises in that set. Like 'The Son Never Shines', 'The Wrong Company'(It's 36 seconds long so I didn't expect it), and that mostly accoustic cover of 'The Black Friday Rule', he played half of it accoustic and then the rest of the band came back and they played the other half normally. As for the rest of the set, I got to drink beer to some of my favorite songs (Nothing else to do, lack of a mosh pit.), like 'Rebels of the Sacred Heart', 'The Devils Dance Floor', and the pirate songs. Suffice to say by the end of it I was pretty much wrecked. It was worth it though. Other than some minor complaints, like lack of a mosh pit, and a complete lack of Guinness. I was not happy about that in the least little bit. What kinda seedy joint doesn't have the stuff? Salt in the wound, band seemed to have an over abundance of it. Yes I had to bitch about the lack of Guinness. Anyways, show was epic, that's all that matters. :slow:

And I think that wraps up this journal.
I'm too lazy to find a song here, so I'm gonna post a Psych quote and call it a night:

Shawn: When are you seeing this blind chick?
Gus: Gloria can't see me.
Shawn: Dude, I know how being blind works.

Yeah, as for me I hocked my brains, packed my bags and headed west. ;P

Lithium

Sun Oct 18, 2009, 11:49 PM
No, title doesn't mean anything. Just the song I was listening to, if you have to ask who's it by, kindly go give your head a shake. :B

More updating this cause I've nothing better to do with my time.

Lemme see, updates:

Well, nothing too major. I don't think. Some epic stuff did happen. I finally got to watch that Iced Earth: Alive In Athens show. Amazing stuff. I'm convinced this is absolute best concert ever done in history. Although I am really disappointed A Question Of Heaven did not make the set list on the DVD. Someone fucked up, and I hope Schaffer fired someone for it.

Also got around to trying Guitar Hero 3, yes I know it's ancient, and that five was just released. Just keep in mind it's the only one of those games ported to the PC. Rather poorly too. I'd expect memory leaks from open source games, and not something professionally done. Overall I was not really impressed with Guitar Hero, memory leak aside. It was just the songs that destroyed the experience. Really? I mean they've got actual guitar gods like Stevie Ray Vaughan appearing next to the likes of Slipknot? Whoever decided that Jim Root and Mick Thomson were Guitar Heroes fucked up. Actually whoever decided Slipknot was music (nevermind the fucking fact they are pretending to a metal band) should be shot, repeatedly. And how is it that Megadeth didn't make it? Surely Dave Mustaine would have fit the bill better. Yeah, replace Slipknot with Zakk Wylde, and then replace metallica with Megadeth and it woulda been a better experience. No nu-metal, and no whatever-metallica-is-attempting-to-pass-off-as-music-these-days.

Also less than a week 'till I get to Flogging Molly. Expect a journal with me ranting about how amazing they are, cause I'm expecting an amazing show here. I just hope they live up to my expectations.

What else is there? I downloaded Firefox 3.6a1 (Code named Namoroka), and so far it handles really well, seems faster than 3.5. Even with extensions and scripts, cause those generally seem to slow down Firefox. As far as stability goes, it's super stable for something still in an alpha stage. It does crash once in awhile, but only because I'm using extensions and those aren't officially supported yet, and I had to tweak it to make them work. So I can't exactly complain too much. :paranoid:

Anything else? Other than pineapples are epic, nothing comes to mind. Speaking of pineapples, my attempt at humor for this journal cause it feels short and I'm too lazy to go find lyrics:

Gus: So now I have a cat?
Shawn: An orange tabby. Last year you made her a tiny Santa hat, it was adorable.
Gus: Fantastic, now I can't even have an imaginary boy cat.
Shawn: Gus, a boy cat wouldn't serve my purposes nearly as well. The next time I need you, Pickles is having kittens.
Gus: Pickles?
Shawn: Mrs. Pickles is her full name. Though I'm not actually sure cats can marry outside of Boston.
Gus: Yeah? Well, in a related issue, I'm blocking your number on all the phones in the office.

:lmao: Yeah, I'm so done here. As for me I hocked my brains and headed west. ;P

Overdue update

Fri Sep 25, 2009, 11:49 PM
Lemme see, close to 2 months later I feel obliged to update this. For those of you that actually give a fuck about the meaningless going ons in my life. :B

Been a good month overall. A really good month. I got my hands on Resident Evil 5. I should hardly think that name needs any explanation at this point. Finished that earlier this week. It's become the best game I've played this year. Actually, no. Best game I've played since RE: 4, (That's right suck it Far Cry 2, and Oblivion! :shakefist:) Only complaint was that RE: 5 seems to have strayed from the horror bit. However this complaint is minor. Considering that it's visually stunning, and as far as game play goes, well still just as intense as ever. Still has people running away from torch wielding villagers, desperately trying to find ammo and cursing about the evident lack of it through the entire game.

I also got season 2 of Psych on DVD, one more to go... I will get it eventually. :paranoid: In the meanwhile Psych induced euphoria *woo* Honestly... I pity you people that have never seen it. Especially 65 Million Years Off and Shawn (and Gus) Of The Dead. :lmao: "Just because I took Gus' giant dinosaur head down to a dead body does not make me a nut job!"

Musically I just got addicted to a band called Exodus. Yay for '80's thrash metal. Fun fact Kirk Hammett used to play for them. Considering the shape of his current band I rather happy he left Exodus. As far as Exodus goes, I'll simply point at the song "The Last Act Of Defiance". Not too many songs have an opening solo that actually makes me smile when I hear it. :O

And final update in a month give or take I get to go see Flogging Molly live :excited:. I honestly can't wait for it. Should be a new experience. I've never actually been to a punk show before. Here's hoping I don't get beaten to death for being a metal fan. Yes, I remember the old prejudices. Not sure if those still exist anymore. :O

Anyways. I think that's all for me and this update. Pretty epic I think. Yeah, that's everything.

As for me I hocked my brains, packed my bags and headed west. *Evil woo*

Another feature

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 3, 2009, 1:09 PM
Let's see, I gotta sub for a week as a result of that beta tester glitch being fixed. So I figured before it runs out tomorrow I would update this so I can run a feature of people I like or who just wanted in on this.

Update on life, cause I'm updating the journal anyway... Let's see, not too much to update here. A few minor things, it was my birthday on the 27th. I got addicted to the cd's "Stabbing The Drama" by Soilwork, and "One Kill Wonder" by The Haunted, both are just amazing cd's. Let's see I also got really addicted to Psych. This may or may not be common knowledge. I should think the only people bothering to read this are people I talk to on dAmn where everyone knows this. So yeah common knowledge. Also concerning my message center: Yes, I'm aware there's some lag on responses from me. It's not that I don't like you, I'm just too lazy to deal with the damned thing. Particularly fave and runs. So yeah, if you're gonna fave and run the fave is appreciated, I'm just not gonna bother going to userpages to say thanks. Way I see it if someone is too lazy to leave a comment while faving something, then I can be too lazy to be polite. :B
So yeah, if you commented on something or faved something of mine recently and are reading this consider this a thank you for taking the time to do so. :aww: I promise to deal with my message center on a more frequent basis from now on. ^^;

Feature, cause these people are epic and need more love.

I think that's all for me. If I've forgotten to feature someone, or if someone wants to be featured here, lemme know in the next 24 hours, give or take.

As for me I hocked my brains, packed my bags and headed west.

'Til next time, adieu.
